About The Seedlings Class

We are the Seedlings Class! We love learning and get really excited about all the amazing opportunities we get to learn in our class. We have one of the biggest classrooms in the school. It has a role-play area that we enjoy learning in, as well as a creative corner where we can make things. In Year 1 we learn on the carpet and at our tables, but we also get some time to choose what we are learning through our continuous and enhanced provision. In Year 2, we spend more time working at our desks, but still have plenty of time to move our bodies and learn around our classroom as well. In Seedlings class we really enjoy getting a chance to learn outside our classroom, especially in our learning garden.

Staying healthy, happy and safe is really important to us. We do lots of learning through our PSHE, P.E and other subjects that help us understand how to make choices that will help us with this, both in school and when we are out and about. We get lots of opportunities to stay active including our regular brain breaks, Kanga Sports clubs and our P.E lessons with Skipton Tennis Academy, Wharfedale RUFC and Kanga sports. Here in Seedlings, we are really creative and love making things too. We really enjoy our regular art, D&T and topic based learning. We learn lots about our locality in geography and how this has changed over time in history. We also get to go on exciting trips linked to our topic learning, such as visiting the local sweet shop and fire station.
